Anacortes Race week goes on from June 20-24, 2022. This is the second annual event for Anacortes. Formerly known as Whidbey Island Race Week, the event has changed a bit in order to utilize the areas around Guemes Island. If you head down to the Cap Sante Marina, you will see boats moored at C Dock and people gearing up early every morning to set out for the events. Headquarters will be at the Anacortes Yacht Club building.
This event is open to one-design keelboats, PHRF, ORC, multihulls, and cruising classes.
There is a lot of information to be found out about if you get on the Race Week PNW Anacortes FaceBook page. While registration for this year's event is closed, people are still looking for crew members and advertising services from companies like boat detailing and diving services to clean the bottom side of your boat. You will find out the happenings around the marina as well as what restaurants are participating in Race Week events and specials.
Even if you are not part of the regatta, take a stroll down to the marina and admire the many flags adorning the sails, and say “hello” to the people working so hard to get a bow ahead of the competition!
If this is an event you would like to be involved in next year, registration for 2023 Race Week will open on January 1.
